This salsa is fresh healthy and contains no artificial flavoring or preservatives. In english especially in the united states when the word salsa is used it refers to the spicy tomato and chili based preparation known as salsa roja salsa picante or salsa cruda as adopted from mexican cuisine it is commonly used as a dip alongside tortilla chips or as a condiment served along with dishes such as huevos rancheros or burritos. It is fresh and spicy and did i mention easy. You can eat it immediately but i highly recommend you allow this salsa to sit for an hour and let the flavors meld together. Fruit salsas made with mango or pineapple go well with grilled fish.
I also added some of the seed from the serrano peppers because we like it a little bit spicy. This salsa is a spicy fresh addition to any mexican meal and it s great on breakfast burritos. It s a refreshing dip when it is served along with tortillas chips. I have been using the sames recipe for a long time but decided to try this one. The jalapenos and hot pepper sauce e g tabasco add spice to the mix and the cilantro lime juice and green onions create freshness.
I loved the balance of lime and coriander but i prefer my salsa to have a little more body to it so its not so sloppy. This recipe is bursting with flavor. Serve salsa with tortilla chips and dips such as guacamole or soured cream or use it as a sauce or for topping pasta or pizza. I took it to a work potluck this week and got many requests for the recipe. This salsa is amazing.
