In a medium bowl mix mascarpone cheese with vanilla extract and other 1 2 cup sugar. In a medium bowl puree thawed mixed berries with granulated sugar. Microwave for 1 2 minutes if necessary. Ingredients for mixed summer berry trifle 1 10 ounce angel food cake cut into 1 5 inch cake cubes 8 ounces 1 package neufchatel or same amount cream cheese or mascarpone cheese 1 2 cup granulated white sugar. Repeat the layer until you run out of ingredients.
Then strain the compote separating the berries from the liquids in separate bowls. Mix the berries and cherry jam together and spoon into your trifle bowl. In a separate bowl cream together mascarpone cheese and granulated sugar. Add a layer of the berry mascarpone mixture followed by a layer of the plain mascarpone mixture. Layers of berries are mixed with mascarpone whipped cream and lady fingers soaked in strawberry puree.
Add whipped cream and fold it in. Dip the ladyfingers in the berry sauce gently and layer them in the bottom of the glasses or truffle dish. In a standing mixer using a whisk attachment whip cold heavy cream powdered sugar and vanilla extract until stiff peaks. Prepare 4 medium size glasses or 1 trifle dish to assemble your tiramisu. Put the custard mascarpone and 3 tbsp sugar in a bowl together and beat until smooth then dollop all over the trifle.
